Bonding
Feb 04, 2022What is bonding and what kind of impact does it have on your baby?
What kind of experiences we have in the womb has a great impact on our future life. Were we welcomed or rejected? Was there a lot of stress or anxiety? Was their love or hate?
All these attributes are laid at the dawn of our existence, but modern medicine pays little attention to it. For them the baby still seems to be separated from the mother.
If you experience a lot of traumas in your life, go to your mother and ask her some questions. Where did she give birth? Was she happy during the pregnancy? Were you wanted? Was there any stress (money issues, single mother etc.)? Were there some interferences during birth? Etc.
Do you see any connections?
I have experienced the importance of having a good bond with your kids myself. With every child, I started trusting my intuition more and the bonding got stronger and stronger. The stronger the connection, the more conscious my birthing experience got. My last birth was an act of togetherness. I was fully present and totally in contact with my body and my boy. At the time, I did not know what gender my baby was. I could see big differences in my practice as a craniosacral- prenatal- and birth therapist. Babies who had a bonding with their mom were present, clear and curious beings with an expanded energy field. Babies who had a difficult pregnancy and or birth were either sleepy (narcotized) or crying out of emotional pain or releasing traumas. Their presence is absolutely different. We mothers lay the foundation. Please be aware of that. Being pregnant is much more than just having a big belly.
A lot of trauma can be prevented with good bonding during pregnancy. Bonding is always through the heart and not through the mind.
How can you get into contact with your baby?
Belly massages, perception and breathing exercises, music, dancing, singing, yoga, craniosacral therapy for example are all possibilities to bond with your unborn child. Listen to yourself and choose what you are attracted to.
Bonding not only takes place during pregnancy, but also during and immediately after birth. Mother and child are still under the influence of the hormones released during childbirth.
All the conscious “work” you do before birth, pays off later in a positive birth experience and helps your child having a good start into this world.
Remind yourself. Bonding is all about heart connection and being present!
